Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) are the core of our advanced building system. The outer structure is Class A Grade Magnesium Oxide, which is highly water resistant, fireproof and extremely strong. The thermal core comprises Elastapor® H PUR foam insulation, developed with world market leaders BASF.

Super-fast, super-flexible component build

SPT MgO SIP panels are the perfect solution for rapidly constructing thermally efficient, airtight buildings. Our panels can be used for external and internal walls, roofs and intermediate floors, in virtually any design and application.

Our panels are very easy to erect on site and typically allow the building envelope to be constructed to wind and watertight state within days of delivery to site.

SPT MgO SIP are available in a range of panel thickness and achieve u-values of up to 0.14 W/m2K or better. This performance allows their use in buildings which will easily achieve Passivhaus performance.

When combined with SPT’s unique Econex panel connection system, our buildings have very limited thermal bridging and exceptional levels of air-tightness.

Out performs other SIP systems

All SIPS are not the same:

SPT produces a panel comprised of a Magnesium Oxide (MgO) skin and a Polyurethane (PUR) core. This offers multiple advantages over inferior panels using Oriented strand board ( OSB)/wood chip board and Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) cores.

Fire Resistance – Fire resistance and non-combustibility– Our MgO panels have been tested to BS EN 13501 – 1:2007 standards and achieved a “Class A1” accreditation.

Thermal Efficiency – maximum U values of .14 means that SPT panels are the most thermally efficient SIP panels on the market, compare this to standard OSB/EPS panels with typical U values of .35 and above.

Rigidity – SPT MgO panels are fully flat, don’t warp or delaminate, expand or contract and offer a level of earthquake resistance that is unsurpassed.

Highly Water Resistant – The outer skin of SPT’s panels are fabricated with Magnesium Oxide, a mineral which naturally repels water and does not absorb or retain moisture. Unlike OSB panels, SPT’s panels do not need time to dry out after exposure to rain and SPT’s panels will not warp or delaminate.


As the above chart demonstrates, SIP panels outperform many other forms of building as illustrated above, with a comparison against the efficiency of timber frame structures. Our system arrives ready to be assembled, panels, joining components and fixings.
